The new reception hide at Burton was completed in June 2011. Paddock Johnson had won the project following a 2 stage design competition run by the RSPB. Situated at the 45 hectare Dee Estuary nature reserve near Burton in Cheshire, the RSPB’s requirements were for a facility to act as a focal point for information and orientation and to offer visitors panoramic views of the newly created wildlife spectacle. The Society was looking for an original building with a strong sense of style, both in terms of its configuration and appearance whilst promoting high standards of sustainability and environmental innovation, sensitive integration. The RSPB feel that these requirements were met, on a tight budget, with great success.
Excellent Service, awesome final building and a joy to work with the PJP team.
