The scheme forms part of Wirral’s HMRI programme and provides for 4 bungalows and 12 no 3 / 4 bed homes on a brownfield site. In order to achieve the ‘Excellent’ rating the eco-homes credit rating system and the principals of ‘green construction’ epitomised the design concept form the onset. Aspects such as orientation, future flexibility, material specification, daylight and solar control, and renewable energy were considered alongside the more conventional eco friendly measures.
