Following on from the initial site appraisal undertaken by Hyndburn’s regeneration team, we developed an advanced Masterplan for an extended redevelopment drive to include both clearance and selective intervention.
We addressed the wider public image of the area by key strategic redevelopment to reverse the decline of recent decades. Improvements were proposed to the public realm and to the principal commercial/neighbourhood centre.
The keynotes were to respond to the identified needs of the community; increase accessibility and target specific opportunities to reinforce local identity and assets, in a rounded and effective solution.
The design strategy allowed for flexibility to respond to future needs. It included a variety of mixed use developments & integrated urban living schemes, in addition to the provision of new build (family) town houses & innovative upgrading of existing homes to enable them to function fully within a modern setting.
