The town of Heswall is well known with its rich history, recorded in the Domesday Book as Eswelle. As Liverpool grew, so did Heswall whilst wealthy merchants started setting up their grand holiday homes in the town. Heswall has been known as a place with spectacular views across the Dee Estuary and the Welsh Hills. Nowadays, Heswall is still known with is lavish homes as well as it has become a centre for shopping and dining, with many independent businesses showcasing local produce.

The site lies within an established residential area with character derived from its architecture, large, detached houses, and mature gardens. The proposal for one four-bedroom detached house and a single-storey summer house is a contemporary take on the detached house.
