eccleston shopping centre

paddock johnson where involved in the development of a  new shopping centre in Eccleston near Chorley is now fully open. The local centre developed by Northern Trust includes a public library, post office, cafe and several retail units and is part of a larger scheme which included a housing development which we master-planned in support of the original outline planning consent and is to be developed by Bloor Homes.

The centre replaces the previous Carrington Centre arcade which had become run down and, as a considerable logistical challenge for the client, was kept fully trading during the demolition and construction phases. The golden post box celebrated the Lancashire village’s most famous resident Bradly Wiggins’ achievements in the Tour de France and Olympics in 2012 and was moved from the old arcade to the new centre.
