Paddock Johnson were appointed following an invited competition to undertake a series of projects at Great Moreton Hall for a private client, including the conservation and repair of the former servants’ quarters, stable courtyard, ice house, gazebo and walled garden.

Great Moreton Hall is an exceptional, Grade II* Listed private residence situated south of Congleton, in Moreton cum Alcumlow, designed by Edward Blore for the Ackers family and built in 1841.  The current owners have lovingly restored the main hall over the past two decades with attention now focusing on the ancillary buildings and wider estate.

The brief for the conservation works is to secure the future of the individually listed structures by identifying and prioritising works necessary to make them wind and watertight.  Survey work including rectified drone photography was undertaken to record current condition and establish the extent of repairs required.
